From kroner to crypto: how to deposit at a foreign casino

The money · into the casino through an exchange

Foreign crypto casinos do not take Danish kroner. The route runs through a crypto exchange: kroner in, coin out, onward to the casino's address. That is four steps, and most mistakes happen in the third. Here is the route, with the fees we were able to confirm.

Nearly every casino on the board of foreign casinos is a crypto casino. That is the part the big Danish casino guides skip: most of them review only sites with a Danish licence, where you pay by card or with MobilePay. At a foreign casino the cashier looks different, and the first deposit takes a little preparation.

Step 1: an exchange that takes kroner

You need an account at a crypto exchange where you can pay in Danish kroner. Three of the most used look like this in September 2026:

ExchangeKroner inDeposit feeSign-up
FiriYes, bank transfer from 15 kr.Bank transfer free; card, Apple Pay and Google Pay 3.9 % from 100 kr.MitID
BitpandaYes, trading from 7 kr.Depends on the methodVerification with ID
KrakenNo, not in kroner––

Firi is authorised as a crypto asset service provider under the EU's MiCA rules through the Norwegian financial supervisory authority, and the authorisation covers Denmark too. That is not a guarantee of anything, but it does mean the exchange is supervised, which the casino is not in the same way.

A bank transfer is the cheapest road. A card is faster, but 3.9 % of 1,000 kr. is 39 kr. before you have staked a single krone.

Step 2: buy the coin the casino takes

Open the casino's cashier before you buy and see which coins and networks it accepts. The most common are:

  • USDT. A stablecoin whose value follows the dollar. Your balance does not swing with the market while you play. It exists on several networks.
  • Bitcoin. Taken almost everywhere. The network fee can be high when things are busy.
  • Litecoin and others. Cheaper to send, but not every exchange and casino carries them.

Pick the coin that exists both on the exchange and in the casino's cashier, on a network both support.

TrustDice is the second casino where we opened a real account: we followed registration and the steps in the cashier, without reaching a withdrawal.

Step 3: the address and the network

This is where money disappears. The casino's cashier shows an address and a network, for instance USDT on TRC20 or USDT on ERC20. The same coin on two different networks is two different things: send USDT on one network to an address on another and the amount can be lost.

  1. Pick the coin and the network in the casino's cashier.
  2. Copy the address with the copy button, never by typing it out.
  3. Pick the same coin and the same network on the exchange when you send.
  4. Check the first and last four characters of the address before you press send.

Step 4: send a small amount first

Send a small amount, wait until it shows in the casino account, and then send the rest. It costs one extra network fee and saves you from the one mistake that cannot be undone. If this is your first deposit at a new casino, make it the beginning of a trial withdrawal at the same time: small in, small out, before you put more in.

At Vave you register with an email address and a password. If verification comes, it comes later, in the cashier, under clause 8.7 of the terms.

MobilePay and cards inside the casino

Some foreign casinos have a «buy crypto with a card» button in the cashier. Behind it sits a third-party service with its own fees and its own verification. It can work, but you typically pay more than through an exchange, and it is harder to see what you are paying.

MobilePay, today part of Vipps MobilePay, we have not seen in the cashier at any of the casinos on the board. Firi does not list it as a deposit method for Denmark either. If you see a page promising MobilePay at a foreign crypto casino, check who is actually receiving the money.

The way back

A withdrawal arrives as crypto to the address you give: typically your address on the exchange. From there you sell to kroner and transfer to your bank. Keep the transaction IDs for both deposits and withdrawals; they are your evidence if something goes wrong, and your own record of what you have actually spent.

Keep the gambling money separate

Use a separate wallet, or a separate amount on the exchange, for gambling only, and move only what you have decided to spend in that session. When the gambling money sits in one place and the savings in another, it is easier to stop once the budget is gone. More on budgets and limits in play safely, and on bonuses that lock your deposit in bonuses at foreign casinos.

Frequently asked questions

Which exchange takes Danish kroner?
Firi takes bank transfers in kroner with no fee from 15 kr. and cards at a 3.9 % fee from 100 kr.; sign-up happens with MitID. Bitpanda also trades in kroner. Kraken does not take kroner as a deposit.
Can I use MobilePay to deposit at a foreign casino?
We have not seen MobilePay in the cashier at any casino on our board, and Firi does not list it as a deposit method for Denmark. Expect a bank transfer or a card to the exchange, and crypto onward to the casino.
Which coin should I choose?
The one the casino takes, on a network both the exchange and the casino support. USDT is popular because its value follows the dollar, so your balance does not swing with the market while you play.
